WE SHARE THIS WORLD

We share this world yet we do not share with each other

How can you tear away a four month old child from its mother?

Why do we feel the need to restrict access and build walls?

Without the love and care for each other humanity will surely fall

What is the problem with sharing our wonderful land?

Why is it an issue to give someone a much needed hand?

What kind of world must we live in if killing is worth billions?

When the number of children without parents is in the millions?

We are all made of the same blood, sweat, and tears

Yet we do not try to understand each other’s fears

We are obsessed with saving our planet yet we will not save another

Turning them away at the gates; someone’s mother, lover or brother

My heart breaks at the thought of the torture people are going through

My head tells me to get involved and help but it’s hard to know what to do

No one chooses the terrifying fate that waits for them around every dark corner

I see a life at risk and a soul with no hope but all you see is a faceless foreigner

I hope one day we can all live as one, loving one another the way it should always be

I hope one day we can all live in peace, loving life and being beautifully and blissfully free

Whether this day comes or not I will never truly know

All I know is what I see, and that we must continue to grow

Open up our land and help those who are living in terror

Open up our eyes and our hearts and see that we must be fairer

We share this world yet we do not share with each other

How can you tear away a four month old child from its mother?
